Maz Jobrani Mr. Hut on Life On A Stick
After guest-starring in the pilot, Jobrani was invited to join the cast of LIFE ON A STICK as a series regular. He most recently completed the Sydney Pollack film, "The Interpreter," starring Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman, which is due for a February 2005 release.Jobrani grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he played the lead role of Li'l Abner in his eighth-grade school play. From there he was hooked. He studied theater throughout high school and took a break during college, where he studied political science and Italian at UC Berkeley. Then, in the fall of '94, while beginning a Ph.D. program in Political Science at UCLA, Jobrani snuck over to the prestigious UCLA theater program and dove right into the mainstage play, returning once again to his true love, the stage. Jobrani is best known for his role as "Moly" in Ice Cube's "Friday After Next." He also guest-starred as "The Sikh" in the fourth season finale of "Curb Your Enthusiasm." Besides his comedic roles, Jobrani delved into the dramatic, guest-starring on "The West Wing," "NYPD Blue," "24," "Without a Trace," "Law & Order" and many other shows. Recently, he played "Glenn," Jennifer Garner's colleague, in the 2004 film "13 Going on 30." Additionally, Jobrani performs stand-up comedy regularly at the Comedy Store and the Laugh Factory on the Sunset Strip. He does stand-up at clubs all over the country, including the Improvs and many of the top clubs in New York. His stand-up has been featured in Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, PBS and The CBS Morning Show.
