DETROIT

A contractor convicted of corruption with former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is getting settled at a federal prison in West Virginia.

The Detroit News reports that Bobby Ferguson arrived Tuesday in Glenville, West Virginia, after being held in Michigan for 15 months.

He's serving a 21-year sentence for years of corruption when Kilpatrick was mayor. A judge describes Ferguson as the "catalyst."

Evidence shows that Kilpatrick often went to bat for his buddy and punished contractors who didn't make room for Ferguson on excavation projects. Kilpatrick is serving a 28-year sentence at a federal prison in Oklahoma.
