Ex-Concord U football players plead guilty to conspiracy in connection with home invasion

PRINCETON, W.Va.


Two former Concord University football players are facing up to five years in prison in connection with a home invasion in the Athens area.

The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports that 22-year-old Riyahd Richardson of Athens and 22-year-old Russell Bailey of Beckley pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of conspiracy.

The two were indicted last year by the Mercer County Grand Jury on charges of robbery first degree, unlawful assault, wanton endangerment and conspiracy stemming from the Nov. 2013 incident.

They face a possible prison sentence of one to five years. Sentencing is set for July 22.
