MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va.

Organizers of the 18th Annual Mock Prison Riot in Moundsville have added something new to the event.

West Virginia Corrections Commissioner Jim Rubenstein says the event will offer a lecture series for the first time. Topics will include cell phones in prisons, how to manage hostage situations and how to manage stress on the job.

About 1,000 people are expected to attend the mock riot at the old West Virginia Penitentiary.

A two-day skills competition kicked off the event on Sunday. Workshops, training scenarios and an exhibition hall will be held Tuesday and Wednesday.
