LOCK MAINTENANCE

Reported by: Associated Press
Monday, May 5, 2014 2:03 AM EDT
GALLIPOLIS FERRY, W.Va.

Recreational boat lockages at the Robert C. Byrd Locks and Dam will be limited during a maintenance project.

Beginning Monday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says recreational craft will be locked only at noon and 4 p.m., unless traffic patterns on the Ohio River allow additional lockages.

The limited schedule will remain in effect until Aug 29.

The corps says the main lock chamber miter gates will undergo scheduled maintenance.
