SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va.

Gauley River flows below the Summersville Dam will be temporarily stopped later this month while crews inspect the dam's outflow tunnel.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the inspection will be conducted on Feb. 25. River flows are expected to return to normal on the evening of Feb. 26.

Summersville resource manager Toby Wood says the inspection is the last phase of inspections that began in November 2013. He says the next round of dam tunnel inspections is scheduled for 2012.
