BODY FOUND
Police seek answers after detectives spot body along banks of Kanawha River

CHARLESTON, W.Va.


Police are investigating the discovery of a body along the banks of the Kanawha River in Dunbar.

According to media reports, the body was discovered after two South Charleston detectives were crossing the Dunbar Toll Bridge on Monday afternoon. They saw what they believed was a body and South Charleston and Dunbar officers responded.

The body was found on the bank of the river, with a portion of the remains in the river. The body hasn't been identified as male or female.

The Kanawha Sheriff's Office is investigating with Dunbar and South Charleston police.
