WVU ACCREDITATION
WVU to submit 'self-study' this week to reaccreditation panel; years in the works

Reported by: Associated Press

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.

It's reaccreditation time for West Virginia University.

For the first time in a decade, the Higher Learning Commission will consider the university's accreditation.

The Dominion Post reports that WVU administrators have been working for the past couple years in preparation. Part of the preparation includes the development of a so-called self-study, which will be submitted this week.

Accreditation and Planning officer Elizabeth Hamilton says WVU has been gathering information and analyzing it to determine what to include in the self-study.

The self-study totals hundreds of pages, with the bulk of it compiled last year.
