The Martinsburg-based Legz Clubs has settled a class-action lawsuit seeking unpaid wages for more than 70 exotic dancers.
An attorney for the dancers, Garry Geffert, says the dancers will split $194,500.
According to court records, the remainder of the settlement's proceeds will be paid to the dancers' lawyers.
The lawsuit alleged that Legz didn't pay the dancers and forced them to pay fees to work at its clubs. The lawsuit argued that the company has to pay dancers at least minimum wage.
Geffert says 53 dancers have submitted claims under the Wage Payment and Collection Act. Another 19 submitted claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
