THE HAGUE, Netherlands
Libya's former intelligence chief has appealed the International Criminal Court's decision to let him be tried in his home country and asked judges to order Libya not to start the trial until the appeal is settled.
Judges at the ICC ruled last week that Libya is "willing and able" to prosecute the al-Senoussi, and therefore he cannot be tried at the ICC, which is a court of last resort.
Al-Senoussi is charged at the ICC with crimes against humanity for his alleged involvement in the deadly crackdown on opponents of slain dictator Moammar Gadhafi in 2011.
