The international community is urging election officials in the West African nation of Guinea to release results from an election held more than two weeks ago.
Representatives from the embassies of the United States and the European Union said the process should be monitored by international observers.
Guineans cast ballots on Sept. 28 in their first legislative election in more than a decade. Since then the ruling party and the opposition have accused one another of vote tampering.
Results were supposed to be announced within 72 hours but authorities later said the 72-window would start only once they had received all the ballots.
