Jesse Jackson says request to visit jailed US man Alan Gross not granted as Cuba trip ends

The Rev. Jesse Jackson is ending a four-day visit to Cuba without getting to visit a U.S. government development subcontractor imprisoned in the island nation.
Gross is serving a 15-year sentence after being accused of spying. He says he was only setting up Internet networks for island Jewish groups and was no threat to Cuban sovereignty.
Jackson has been in Havana since Friday for talks with Colombian guerrillas about mediating the release of an American whom they have been holding.
Former U.S. soldier Kevin Scott Sutay was taken captive by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, in June as he was hiking through the jungle.
