In rare scene, Sudanese journalist accuses ministers of lying during live news conference

A journalist who accused the government of lying at a live news conference has become a hero to activists in Sudan, where the press is struggling against a media blackout on the killing of protesters during a week-long wave of demonstrations.
He was addressing the Information Minister after his colleague, the Interior Minister, claimed that photos posted on social networking sites of slain protesters, reportedly killed by the security forces, were fabricated.
It was a rare scene in Sudan, where journalists fear to antagonize the authorities. In the last week, editors say, authorities have closed and confiscated newspapers and pressured the media to call protesters "saboteurs."
