Ex-AIG executives pursue ethics complaint against New York deputy attorney general
Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Friday, December 20, 2013 12:04 PM EST
Former American International Group executives are pursuing an ethics complaint against the New York prosecutors still bringing charges that cost them their jobs at the insurance giant in 2005.
They say state prosecutors want to continue the headline-making civil case for their own interests, that there's no public benefit since monetary damages are already settled, and also suggesting other unethical behavior by authorities.
One remaining issue is Greenberg's potential lifetime ban from the securities industry.
The attorney general's office says Greenberg has tried to evade responsibility by blaming prosecutors.
