Open arguments done in trial of Utah doctor charged with murder in wife's death

Opening statements have concluded in the trial of a former Utah doctor charged with murder in the 2007 death of his wife.
They said that as paramedics tried to resuscitate his wife, Michele MacNeill, the defendant disturbed family members and others by yelling about why his wife had plastic surgery and took so many pills.
Prosecutor Sam Pead said MacNeill asked his mistress to marry him weeks after his wife's death.
Defense attorneys told jurors that Michele MacNeill died from heart disease, not from anything Martin MacNeill had done. Defense lawyer Susanne Gustin said MacNeill made poor choices in his life but being a jerk doesn't make him a murderer.
