German museum, Holocaust survivor's heirs bring dispute over ancient gold tablet to NY court

A dispute over an ancient gold tablet pitting a Holocaust survivor's heirs against the German museum that lost the Assyrian relic in World War II is going to New York's highest court.
Riven Flavenbaum brought it to the U.S. after surviving the Auschwitz concentration camp and settling on Long Island. Family lore says he had traded cigarettes to a Russian soldier for the tablet.
The Court of Appeals will decide whether the museum waited too long before trying to reclaim it.
Arguments are Tuesday.
