Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa October 25, 2013
Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa
Studio: MTV Films
Rating: R for strong crude and sexual content throughout, language, some graphic nudity and brief drug use.

"Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" really isn't a movie. It's a series of gags and pratfalls.

Star Johnny Knoxville fools ordinary people into thinking he's an 86-year old guy named Irving Sisman, who is taking his grandson (Jackson Nicoll) across the country to live with his father.

Their adventures are captured by hidden cameras, as the two encounter a series of situations where Knoxville's signature physical humor is put to the test.

Knoxville and Nicoll find themselves in a number of situations. From a room full of mourners at a funeral home to crashing a child beauty pageant, the movie is at its best when the stars are interacting with unsuspecting victims.

By now, we're all pretty familiar with reality tv. "Bad Grandpa" turns things up a notch with its raucous stunts and rough language. But, it manages to stay somehow sweetly funny in the midst of the carnage. Don't get me wrong, it's not a great movie. But it made me laugh, a lot. And, isn't that what we ask comedies to do? But be warned, it is not for everyone. If you have delicate sensibilities you might want to see something else.

On my rating scale, "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" earns a TRIPLE.
