February 27, 2009 Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience
Studio: Walt Disney Pictures Rating: G
Like Miley Cyrus before them, the Jonas Brothers make their debut as movie stars in "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience."
But unlike Miley who became famous playing her alter-ego Hannah Montana, Kevin, Joe and Nick have become stars by being themselves.
There rockumentary feature debut blends excerpts from their "Burning Up" concert tour with filmed segments featuring fans and funny moments.
The brothers don't claim the stage by themselves. They're joined in the film by Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift who both provide guest performances.
Technically this movie rivals the "Hannah Montana" 3D concert. It looks good, sounds good and has plenty of energy. If you are a Jonas Brothers fan you'll love it.
If you don't know anything about them you may become a fan.
But if you don't like Disney-fied pop music with squeaky clean performers stay away. It's that simple.
There is one more thing I want to mention. This film is a little more expensive than your average movie, with tickets costing 15 dollars each.
On my rating scale, although they are not my cup of tea, "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience" earns a TRIPLE. But for fans of the boys I'm sure it's a home run.
