It's the same as her giving the child drugs after it is born... both ways the child is going to suffer or die from the drugs. So YES!! I think it should be considered child abuse. It is only 9 months long and when it is over you can give your child up for adoption and do whatever harmful things that you want to your body after that. I believe that it would be very important for the mothers to be offered help with their problem before action, such as losing their children, would be taken. But one chance is more than enough when it comes to this issue, if they do not show promise of reform, then something should be done because babies at this stage of development are far to fragile to withstand that kind of abuse. Nelson, Charleston A baby unborn is still living and is still a child, I feel that any mother that would do that to their unborn child would do worse once the baby was born. Most parents who are on drugs care more about that then they do their family. The child would not be taken care of the right way and would not have much of a childhood because mommy and daddy would always be strung out on something. I just can't believe I ever but myself and my body through that. And to do it whlie pregant is just completely unbelieveable.
