A SAMPLING OF YOUR RESPONSES:

I think that it is very likely to be a huge problem for us here in the U.S. There does not seem to be a drug that will stop it in its tracks.
Janet, St. Al.

It is very scary, and I am worried that it will hit home. There is a lot of diseases going around, especially after 9/11. I hope they find a cure, in case it does come here.
Amber, Clendenin

Yes, I am very worried about it hitting my home, because I do not know if there is any kind of treatment for this virus. If there is a cure, is it very hard to get?
Andrea Lawson, Walton

I have a serere respirary condition which I have oxygen and serveral kinds of medications to be able to get enough oxygen into my blood. I AM VERY SCARED///
Gleeda Plank, Hornell N.Y.

No_Just like the common cold SARS is no different..re: deaths. The elderly & those who already have respiratory problems also die from the common cold.
Kassie, San Benito, Texas

I wish to pose the question of, why are we spending so much money blowing up each other, when we can't even hardly spend a dime to save a life. Many nations in this world, yes even the US (insert gasp by uninformed blind patriots all over here), have forgotten that it is better to save lives then to take them. Like all wars, this most recent one was motivated by profit and land gain. Why don't we take a intelligent turn and actually do something constructive for once and help people, without killing them.
William Smalley, South Charleston

Why doesn't AIDS or cancer or malnutrition get this kind of attention and news coverage? 2600 SARS cases ever so far compared to millions who die of malnutrition every single year, as well as millions more who die af AIDS and cancer, but how often does our sensationalistic news media report on or even mention these? SARS may have a cure; the only cure for other chronic disases is information, which the media evidently forgets or does not bother to provide whenever there's a chance to raise the ratings.
J.Hallnam, DFW

Yes I live in a town north of Dallas Tx. and we have cases here ourselfs I am from the Ashland area and like watching you web site
Dallas TX

If it is like the common cold and is a viris how is it treated
Mizja, Cleveland

Are there common factors in those that develope SARS aside from traveling to Asian areas? If the SARS is not treatable what is the significance fo seeking health care? Why not stay home let it run its course and limit exposure?
Karen, Charleston, WV
