A SAMPLING OF YOUR RESPONSES:

We promised aid and we should stand by that promise, no matter what
Toni, Leon
Because Saddam knows how the American people are when it comes to helping someone and they used that aganist us knowing that we have pity for them and he has none. We are caring but our careing for the people doesnt seem to brother him because he used fear and mind control over his men. I know i pray for all of the men and women who are over there and the families of the ones that have come home for the last time.
Helen McQuillan, Charleston
Our aid to the Iraqi people will hopefuly help them realize we are not like Saddam Husein, and we realy want to make the world a safer, better place. Hopefuly the aid will show the Iraqi people that Americans really do care.
Blitta Crum, Louisa, KY.
I feel that war is war and our troops are putting themselves in a dangerous position. You supply food to the enemy the enemy can proceed on and kill our troops. Food for only the ones who are prisoners and are under military survillence. There is many thousands of people in the U.S. that go hungary everyday feed them not our enemy.
Jo, Charleston
The people still have to eat and will be on our side as soon as they know Saddam is dead. Also, any truth to the rumor that Gov. Wise left town yesterday because he didn't want to be a part of the Pro-Troops rally in Charleston?
Rich, WVA
You know we're feeding Sadaam's killers !!
Mike Campion, Millstone,nj
i think that we should only offer aid to the iraqi people that are behind our lines. we should not be giving any aid to areas that are still controlled by saddam hussein. we should be worrying more about our troops safety, than about offending some people with civilian casualties, this a war.
mark fulks, charleston
American are without food to but get no help
Mother, St Albans
It is no more providing aid and comfort to the enemy than providing medical aid to injured enemy soldiers or civilians would be.

Definately Not! The ordinary citizen of Iraq is not the enemy. What we must understand as Americans is that many Iraqis feel that the U.S. abandoned them after the Gulf War and have reservations to offer their support/trust. In time, and as we have seen in cities/villages that have been cleared of the true enemy, the people come out and welcome not only the food/water, but the soldiers. I spent 12 years in Ranger/Special Forces units and know what it's like to go into a situation feared and not trusted and remember the people after they had realized that Americans actually DO help the oppressed. you may not like the war, but support the heroes/soldiers that are fighting and have fought for your rights and freedom to agree or disagree as you please. God Bless Jessica Lynch. Welcome back.
Marty, Boulder, Colorado
If you recall, we are to liberate the citizens of Iraq from the evil regime of saddam hussein. Our enemy is not the Iraqi citizens, so we should help to send a positive message to the Iraqi people with aid showing them that we want to help them. Giving humanitarian aid to the innocent citizens of Iraq will hopefully let them know that we intend to keep our promise. May God Bless the Men and Women of the Armed Forces of the United States of America and All of the Coalition Forces.
Bruce Nelson, Jr., Madison
Yes I think it is increasing chances of more people getting hurt, because there is no way of knowing who is getting the supplies and we could be feeding Saddam's troops. I think the US should have waited until they at least had control of Baghdad before offering any supplies.
Penny, Spencer
Who are we feeding his army dressed in regular clothes or the people who are not in his army. We should not feed or rebuild anything until Saddam has surrandered.
Don Withrow, Elkview
The Iraqi people can see the humanity of our soldiers, and it will pay huge dividends. They are starting to see for themselves that our soldiers are not their enemy. P.S. Thank God for Jessica's return.
Darell Luster, White Deer, Texas
I dont think we should spend money rebuilding and helping them after we bomb them. That is stupid in my opninion.
Robert Jones, Cabin Creek
The greater good is to help the Iraqi people immediately. Any aid we provide them will not effect the final outcome of this war. Saddam's regime does not have a chance.

noooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Jon-Erik Hackworth, Charleston
I don't see why we offer anything to them when their trying to take what little bit we do have. I wouldn't help them for any reason . I have a question: does someone there know of some kind of pen-pal program for soldiers ? If so, I would like to know about it. I feel like they all need someone, and I would like to be there for someone.
Misty Jenkins, Charleston
If we don't help them who will? I'm sure many of the better off are getting part or the food and supplies but I pray the poor, tired and hungry Iraqians that just want peace will start being able to get some of the supplies.
Sheila Ganoe, Tornado
Our enemies are Saddam and his sadistic henchmen, not the people of Iraq. Humanitarian efforts are essential, not only in our efforts to abide by the Geneva Conventions and save civilian lives, but also in our efforts to win the hearts & minds of the Iraqi people. We must show them that we support them even as we degrade the Baath party and the regime.
