A SAMPLING OF YOUR RESPONSES:

I don't the word begging should be used for Trick or Treat night, it doesn't sound good at all; tradition, and collecting sounds better!!
Toni Buzzard, Leon
It's always been that way.we should not have to change it because it will stilresult in the same ways.
kim wilkerson,
We have changed the dates for so many celebrations for convenience. We forget the meanings of our holidays. I feel a comfort in knowing that family members that have past on did something so many years ago that I am doing now.
M. O'Connor, Lakeville, MN
I'm a traditionalist. I feel that October 31st is the best day since that is the day we
Carla Lee Kennedy, Charleston
I think it's a great time of year to enjoy our time with our children. If you pile it all onto one night, many people could not be involved. With a varied date and time, nearly all children get a chance to go out with a parent for a night of fun. Besides, doing any activity on the actual 31st should be considered carefully due to safety risks it might pose to young as many adults tend to party on this night. It would not be as safe to put children out in the path of increased drinking and foolishness.
A Casto, South Charleston
Unless it falls on a Sunday, then it should be on the 30th of October.
Nina Williams, Tornado, WV 25202
I live in Boone county and my aunt lives in Logan and my kids like to go over there and trick or treat with her daughter .Then come home and go back out the next night .
Teresa Adkins, Uneeda
Yes i think it should it has always been in oct. and nobody should change that.
Kisha Campbell, Cross Lanes
It has been that way for years. If you change it then it is not Halloween. The date for it is October 31, not October 29. Are we going to change Christmas, the 4th of July or New years? Leave it as it is. There are too many traditions that have been changed please leave some alone. It will not be any safer if you change it.,because you will have to let people know the change;that means the godd people along with the bad will know.
Angela Adams, US Army, Belgium, spouse formerly of Chapmanville
Actually, I think it is getting too dangerous for the kids to be out trick or treating. Communities should organize some type of party or an organized event for the children.
Susan, Dunbar
Why even say that the 31st is Halloween if you are not going to celebrate Halloween on the 31st.
Mary Dayhaw, Marmet
Should be on the Friday or Saturday evening closest to Halloween. It is difficult for children to attend school after an exciting night
Cody Batten, Weston
I think that it would be too dangerous for the kids to be on the streets on Friday or Saturday nights. Were it not for that, it would be a great reminder for the public to drive safely.
Kimberly Henderson, Charleston
I think it should be prior to the 31st because the 31st is the day for all the tricks and kids do not need to be out during this time!
Rhonda, Huntington
It should always be thought on the terms of safety, especially with small children in mind. Trick or Treat night should be held on a weekday (Mon-Thurs) the week of Halloween from 6-8pm.
Robin, Charleston
