The Cuyahoga County prosecutor says the fatal shooting of a rifle-toting suspect by county sheriff's deputies in March was justified.
The deputies went to Rondon's Middleburg Heights home on March 25 to pick him up on a warrant for felony assault on a police officer and carrying a concealed weapon.
Deputies said the 65-year-old Rondon came out carrying a rifle, disobeyed orders and aimed at deputies. Later it was determined that the rifle misfired.
McGinty said the deputies "were faced with an armed, irrational, intoxicated, violent suspect."
