TOLEDO SHOOTINGS-NEIGHBORHOOD
Multiple weekend shootings shake residents of Toledo neighborhood known for gang activity

Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Tuesday, July 15, 2014 7:47 AM EDT
TOLEDO, Ohio

A north Toledo neighborhood is shaken after six people were shot there over the course of last weekend.

Early Saturday, four teenagers were shot. Then on Sunday night, a 20-year-old man was shot while sitting in a vehicle, and a 53-year-old man was shot twice on his porch. All of the shootings are without apparent motives or suspects. It is believed that all the victims survived.

Police do not believe the shootings are related, but they say at least one could have been gang-related.

The Blade (http://bit.ly/1nCEbU2 ) reports that the shootings occurred just days after members of city council called a news conference to ask warring gangs to stop shooting one another. The neighborhood is known to be the territory of the gang known as the Bloods.
