Northern Ohio man sentenced to 36 years in prison for abducting, raping woman

Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Tuesday, July 15, 2014 6:01 AM EDT

A judge has sentenced a northern Ohio man to 36 years in prison for abducting and raping a woman after offering to give her a ride.

Thirty-nine-year-old Brian Jury was sentenced Monday in Sandusky. A jury last week found him guilty of charges including rape and abduction.

Erie County prosecutors say Jury offered a ride to the Lorain woman on Nov. 1, 2013, then held her at gunpoint and knife point, and bound her with zip ties.

They say he took the woman to his home where he raped her in a camper. He threatened to kill her if she refused to comply with his orders or tried to escape.

Jury testified during the trial that he paid for sex with the woman.
