SLEDGEHAMMER SLAYINGS
Daughter of slain northeast Ohio couple jailed on drug charges after missing appointment

Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Wednesday, June 18, 2014 5:37 AM EDT
AKRON, Ohio

A daughter of a prominent northeast Ohio couple fatally beaten with a sledgehammer last year has been jailed on a felony drug charge.

Nineteen-year-old Chelsea Lynn Schobert was jailed Tuesday after a judge revoked her bond because she missed a court-ordered appointment in her drug case.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports she had been scheduled for sentencing on her plea last month to one count of trafficking in cocaine. But she skipped out on a court-ordered interview that was to have been part of a pre-sentence investigation report.

Schobert's former boyfriend — 19-year-old Shawn Eric Ford Jr. — and a juvenile are charged in the April 2013 slayings of her parents, Jeffrey and Margaret Schobert.

Her sentencing was rescheduled for Tuesday. Jail records didn't name an attorney.
