Family of central Ohio woman found dead on roadside still searching for answers 1 year later

Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Monday, June 9, 2014 8:00 AM EDT

Family and friends of a 23-year-old central Ohio woman are still searching for answers more than a year after she was found dead with a massive head injury on a roadside.

Nobody seems to have a clue about what happened to Olivia Egland, who was found underneath a guardrail along a road in east Columbus on May 7, 2013. She died later at a hospital from what the coroner said was traumatic brain injury.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that authorities are at a dead end. They don't know if she was beaten and left for dead or hit by a car.

A Columbus detective says her injuries don't specifically indicate either cause of death. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
