WINTER WEATHER-OHIO FLOODING
Rain melts left-behind snow, raises concerns about flooding, ice jams throughout northern Ohio
Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Friday, February 21, 2014 7:41 AM EST
Ohio residents are being urged to keep an eye out for potential flooding along rivers and low-lying areas after rain storms helped melt what's left of the recent heavy snowfalls.
Morning commuters were warned about the potential for waterlogged roadways, and officials were watching for ice jams along partially frozen rivers.
Wind gusts forecast at up to 55 mph also are a concern as a cold front moves into the region, dropping temperatures closer to the freezing point and ushering more cold weather next week.
