FORMER SHERIFF CHARGED
Prosecutors allege former NW Ohio sheriff spent public funds on clothing, Cedar Point tickets

A former sheriff in northwestern Ohio is accused of spending government funds on personal items including clothing, prescription medicine and tickets for Cedar Point amusement park.
Messages seeking comment were left at his home and office on Thursday.
Bratton was sheriff in Ottawa County from 2004 to 2011. Since then, he's been the police chief in the village of Genoa , near Toledo.
The village's administrator told media outlets that the 60-year-old Bratton submitted his retirement Thursday.
The charge against Bratton is one count of theft concerning programs receiving federal funds.
