VALLEY FORGE, Pa.
The company that operates the power grid that supplies energy for more than 61 million people in parts of the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and South is calling for the public to conserve electricity Tuesday because of the extreme cold.
The grid operator asks the public to conserve electricity Tuesday, especially from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
PJM says conservation efforts will help ensure adequate power supplies. It says that it is working with state governments and utilities to monitor the situation.
