GAY MARRIAGE-OHIO JUDGE
Ohio judge who ordered recognition of gay marriages respected by colleagues

A federal judge who recently ordered the out-of-state marriages of two gay couples to be recognized in Ohio has infuriated some conservatives who say he should be impeached.
The two couples, each struggling with the death, sued state authorities to have their marriages recognized on death certificates.
Black reasoned that Ohio law historically has recognized other out-of-state marriages as valid as long as they were legal where they took place, including marriages between cousins and involving minors.
The ruling has gotten nationwide attention and sparked backlash among conservatives.
But Black's supporters say the 60-year-old Massachusetts native and Harvard graduate is a fair and thoughtful judge who rules without personal bias.
