FEDERAL COURTHOUSE SHOOTING
Ex-cop didn't seem to be targeting anyone when he sprayed W.Va. courthouse with bullets

An ex-police officer didn't seem to be targeting anyone or any particular office when he stood across the street from a federal courthouse in West Virginia and sprayed the glass facade with bullets.
A clear motive still hasn't emerged for 55-year-old Thomas J. Piccard's assault Wednesday. But on Thursday, U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld said the building being the target and other evidence he wouldn't detail indicates Piccard "had an anti-government bias."
And acquaintance Mahlon Shields said the thin, sickly looking man told neighbors he was dying of cancer and she believes he was trying to get himself killed by law enforcement, which is what ended up happening.
