Ohio board reverses denial of home for homeless veterans

An Ohio planning commission has reversed its decision turning down a plan to provide housing and substance-abuse treatment for homeless veterans.
The decision is a reversal from the commission's vote against the home in August, when panel members said the neighborhood might not be the best fit for the men and that the home was too close to two homeless shelters.
At that meeting, several neighbors spoke out against the home, saying the veterans could exacerbate an already rife drug problem in the area.
Supporters had said the veterans just needed a place to pick themselves back up.
