INJURED EAGLE SAVED
Bald eagle injured by plane likely to stay at Ohio rehabilitation center, not return to wild

A nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation center says a bald eagle hit by a plane at a northwest Ohio airport last year probably won't recover enough to be released into the wild.
The bird has had multiple surgeries since it suffered a broken wing. That wing now hangs lower than the other one and hinders the eagle's flying.
Staff supervisor Heather Yount tells the News-Herald in nearby Port Clinton that it's heartbreaking but that the center doesn't want to release the bird if it can't survive in the wild.
Yount says the center has five more bald eagles that permanently stay at the center near Lake Erie.
