BACK WAGES-MEXICAN RESTAURANTS
Mexican restaurant chain in Ohio settles with feds; agrees to pay $58K in back wages to 170

The owners of a chain of Mexican restaurants in southwest Ohio have agreed to pay more than $58,000 in back wages to dozens of employees as part of a settlement in a lawsuit filed by federal labor officials.
The newspaper reports the chain's president of operations Gary Rodriguez says the owners gave the U.S. Department of Labor documents refuting the accusations, but they agreed to settle for the lower amount to avoid rising legal fees.
A department spokeswoman was unavailable to comment because of the partial federal government shutdown.
