A Youngstown-area company suspected of deceptively soliciting donations for firefighter and police charities has reached a temporary agreement with the Ohio attorney general's office, and a lawyer says the owner plans to close the business.
A lawyer for Encore and its owner tells The Lima News any checks they have that are made out to charities will be turned over to those organizations under the temporary agreement while the case plays out.
The lawyer, John Huffman, says Encore owner Joseph Chiovitti plans to go out of business.
