Federal government shutdown jeopardizes October marathon at national park in northeast Ohio

An Ohio marathon expected to draw about 1,200 runners and thousands more spectators is up in the air because of the partial federal government shutdown.
The marathon scheduled Oct. 13 draws runners from around the country.
Tim Donovan of the Cleveland-based Ohio Canal Corridor says uncertainty is causing logistical issues for runners planning to come to northeast Ohio. He says organizers would prefer not to scrub this year's race and could consider rescheduling it in a few weeks.
