Ashland charged with murder after being accused of choking another man to death

Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Tuesday, May 27, 2014 3:01 AM EDT

Kentucky State Police say that an Ashland man has been charged with murder after being accused of choking another man to death.

Authorities say police were called for help in the early morning hours on Monday after they got a report of a shooting. Police say investigators actually determined that the men had been in some type of physical alteration that ended with the choking death of 29-year-old Aaron Adkins.

Police say 45-year-old Charles P. Wilhere was arrested and charged with murder and booked into the Boyd County Detention Center. Jail records do not list the name of an attorney for Wilhere.

The motive is still under investigation.
