Child trying to cross parkway in southeastern Ky. hit by truck, dies from injuries

MANCHESTER, Ky.


A coroner says a 7-year-old girl has died after being hit by a truck on the Hal Rogers Parkway.

The Clay County coroner told WYMT-TV that Jasmine Collins died Wednesday night shortly after being struck.

Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson told WKYT-TV that the girl was attempted to cross the parkway on foot with a 12-year-old child. He said no adults were with them.

The 12-year-old wasn't injured.
