TRACTOR-TRAILER CRASH
Driver critically injured in crash with tractor-trailer in I-95 in Wilmington, Del.

WILMINGTON, Del.


Delaware State Police say a driver was critically injured when his car rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95.

It happened about 2:20 a.m. Monday on northbound I-95 near Churchmans Road in Wilmington. Troopers say 22-year-old Najee Rogers of Wilmington lost control of his car drove into the rear of a tractor-trailer.

Police say the rig's driver, 29-year-old Richard Lyvers of Springfield, Ky., pulled onto the shoulder after feeling the impact of the crash. Authorities say rescuers found Rogers' car lodged under the tractor-trailer.

Rogers was removed from his car and taken to Christiana Hospital in critical condition. Lyvers was not hurt.

The crash is under investigation.
