Charges against Ky. jailer dismissed as long as conditions are met
Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Wednesday, January 15, 2014 10:46 AM EST
The case against a Kentucky jailer has been dismissed under a diversion agreement as long as certain conditions are met.
The Ledger Independent cited records from the Mason County circuit clerk's office in reporting that the case was mediated and the abuse of public trust count was dismissed while a charge of official misconduct was amended and will be dismissed when conditions of the agreement are met.
Conditions include the termination of a co-defendant in the case, jail worker Richard Lathem II.
The charges stemmed from the scrapping of an industrial cooking appliance without the approval of Fiscal Court.
