Two central Kentucky officials indicted on charges of theft and abusing public trust are maintaining their innocence.
The indictment handed down on Monday by the Larue County grand jury accuses both of using a city-issued fuel credit card to make personal purchases and taking money from the city.
In a statement, Cruse said both he and Hornback used the city gas credit card "legitimately under city policy." They also denied the theft charge, saying it relates to legitimate mileage reimbursement.
Both said they do not intend to resign. They are facing a combined total of 69 counts.
