HOLIDAY TRAFFIC CRASHES
Kentucky State Police launch holiday campaign targeting enforcement in crash zones
Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Monday, December 2, 2013 4:06 AM EST
Kentucky State Police troopers across the state will be looking at data to see where highway crashes involving injury or death most often occur.
Police are using traffic safety check points, covert details in high traffic areas and night vision equipment to help with the effort.
Webb says data shows nearly 53 percent of drivers killed last year weren't wearing seat belts. He says officers will focus on seat belt usage and proper child seat restraints.
The campaign runs through midnight Jan. 1.
