Reported by: Associated Press
Reported: Saturday, November 2, 2013 9:48 AM EST
A federal jury has ruled that five Covington police officers did not violate the civil rights of six people arrested at the end of a house party four years ago.
In addition to Elias, Anthony Gonzalez, Theresa Principata, Betsy Miller, Michael Martin and Lisa Lewis filed the suit against the police officers, claiming they used excessive force. Previously, all the plaintiffs in the civil suit, except Lewis, have been found guilty in state court of some crime stemming the party.
Plaintiff's lawyer Chris Roach may appeal the verdict.
Lawyer Phil Taliaferro represented two of the officers and told The Kentucky Enquirer justice triumphed.
