The Kentucky Public Service Commission says early season natural gas heating prices will be higher than last year.
But the agency says that number is down nearly $49 since the peak of November 2008, a decrease of 32 percent.
PSC Chairman David Armstrong says demand has gone up over last year because more natural gas is being used and the economy has improved. He said the significant increases in production and supply are projected to provide price stability in coming years.
