The United Auto Workers says employees at an auto parts plant in Louisville have authorized the union to represent them.
The plant makes automotive interiors for vehicles produced at Ford Motor Co.'s Louisville Assembly Plant and the General Motors Co. Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kan.
Union spokeswoman Michele Martin said workers at a Faurecia plant in Cottondale, Ala., decided to join the union last year, but another facility rejected organizing.
Faurecia North America spokeswoman Stacie Tong says the company respects the workers' choice to be represented and will work with the union and staff in Louisville to see to the plant's success.
