Kentucky officials expand area where hunters are allowed to take black bears

State officials have approved a wider area in eastern Kentucky where hunters can take black bears.
Voncel Thacker, a spokesman for the department, told WYMT-TV that the growing number of black bears in eastern Kentucky support allowing a larger hunt area.
The counties where black bears can be taken include Bell, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Knott, Knox, Laurel, Leslie, Letcher, Martin, McCreary, Perry, Pike, Pulaski, Wayne and Whitley counties.
