Reported: Monday, October 21, 2013 9:26 AM EDT
The Fayette County Circuit Courthouse is closed after the building was flooded overnight by a leaking toilet.
Lexington Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Nantz told the Lexington Herald-Leader that a toilet on the fourth floor began leaking about 10 p.m. Sunday. The full extent of the damage was still being assessed Monday morning.
Fayette Circuit Judge Pamela Goodwine told WKYT-TV that there were three inches of water on the floor when the leak was first found.
Work crews say it could take up to six days for the courthouse to fully dry out, but they are hoping to reopen at least part of the building Tuesday.
