New commander takes over for US Army Corps of Engineers Huntington District

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a new commander at its Huntington District.
Parrott has served in a variety of command and staff assignments, most recently as Corps Engineer of the 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He succeeds Col Steven McGugan as commander.
The Huntington district has more than 830 employees. The district operates and maintains 35 multi-purpose reservoirs and nine locks and dams and oversees navigation along 311 miles of the Ohio River.
The district covers 45,000 square miles in five states: West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina.
