An eastern Kentucky man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for killing a doctor who asked him to take a urine test before being prescribed painkillers.
Combs pleaded guilty to murder in Perry County Circuit Court in July, and prosecutors had recommended the 40-year sentence.
Police said Combs shot Sandlin at the clinic hours after being denied narcotics. Sandlin had worked there for almost two decades and was the clinic's only doctor.
